WHAT IS "NEW DIRECTIONS"?: New Directions Support Group / Glenside, PA, is a support and education group for people with bipolar disorder, depression and their families & friends. Our mission is to help people achieve meaningful, productive and joyous lives even if that means changing our goals and our lifestyles to accommodate our illness.

WHO CAN ATTEND?: Highly motivated people with a primary diagnosis of a mood disorder (bipolar disorder or depression) who are under the care of a physician for their condition. Friends and families of individuals with mood disorders are welcome.

WHERE ARE MEETINGS HELD?: St. Peters Episcopal Church, 654 N. Easton Road, (between Pleasant & Cross streets), Glenside, PA 19038. We attract an average of 50 people per meeting, ages 20 to 70. Newcomers warmly welcomed.

WHEN DO YOU MEET?: 1st and 3rd THURSDAYS of the month from 7:30 PM to 9:45 PM.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?: We meet in small discussion groups of 6 to 8 people (bipolar group, depression group, family and friends group). On the 3rd Tuesday of the month we have a guest speaker, followed by our small group discussions. Guest speakers include psychopharmacologists, therapists, researchers, employment specialists, nutritionists.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?: $3 per meeting per individual.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU OFFER?: In addition to our two "general meetings" per month, we offer 2 daytime meetings a month and social activities. Come to our general meeting and you'll learn about our exciting array of activities.
